If you translate some English phrases into Spanish, don’t have
the same meaning.
For example, when you say in English “I can’t wait” it could
be that you are very exciting in order to do something. A friend invited you to
a party tonight and you say: “I can’t wait!”….you are very excited.
But in Spanish it normally when we say “No puedo esperar (I
can’t wait), it means that really you can’t wait.
For example: If somebody tells me: “Espera aqui cinco minutos”
(Wait here five minutes), and if I am in a hurry I would say “No puedo esperar”......physically I can't be there.
